There is a Cafe Coffee Day opposite Ram Mandir in Bhubaneswar. When I was in college, I always wanted to have a cup of coffee at that CCD. But spending 250 rupees for a coffee was beyond my budget. I used to see the shop and think: Someday I will have a coffee here.
Days passed by, I joined a job at TCS Mumbai. I came to Odisha during a vacation. As usual, my typical Odia parents took me to Ram Mandir for darshan. While we were getting out of the temple, I saw that CCD, and instantly all my 'coffee at CCD' thoughts were back.
I went to the shop with my parents and sister... ordered 4 coffees for us. My mom was very startled by seeing the bill.
Mom - The coffee is so costly here, I would have prepared coffee at home.
My father - Now that our daughter is earning, we can afford such a luxury.
I was delighted to see the sparkle in their eyes.
I do agree: "A lot can happen over coffee."
