One morning a lady pinged me in the Facebook messenger regarding her problem that she has been facing at her place due to her daughter's skin color. After talking with her, I just kept pondering about it.
Is the skin color so important to us? Do we even need to worry about it?
There are so many things in life about which we need to be concerned: being healthy - physically as well as emotionally, independent, educated, and so on. If a person has good virtues and a kind heart, people will automatically be attracted to him.
I feel that the family plays a significant role in inducing this thought process.
When I was born, many commented at my mom for giving birth to a brown girl. My mom never made us feel any less from others. Even my grandmother was our support. Both have always helped us by standing against such statements.
While my parents were looking for marriage proposals for me, many used to ask: 'What are the skin tone of your daughter' and my mom would reply with a smile – 'Brown.' Once someone asked her – 'How brown is your daughter.' My mom just paused for a few seconds to process the question in her mind. Then the person again repeated – 'How brown is your daughter.. like ghee or wheat or sand'. Mom got so furious that she said – 'Fortunately she is not as brown as your tiny brain.'
These incidents show why mothers are worried about their babies' skin tone.
We, the beautiful ladies, need to make our family aware that the skin complexion is different for all. No two persons have the same skin color, not even twins.
A person with a dark skin tone is no less; there so many great things with the BLACK tag –

- Black moles: enhances our beauty
- Black Friday: gives us a chance to shop so many products in discount
- Black and white photos: takes us to the nostalgic moments
- Blackhole: still a mystery
- Even our own LORD KRISHNA, BALAJI, and JAGANNATH.
Lovely. Beautifully written
