Back in 2018, I was staying in Pune and my husband was staying in Bangalore. After marriage when he had visited me for the first time, I thought of impressing him by making his favorite chai (kyon ki pati k dil ka rasta uske pet se hokar gujarta hai). Me being a chai hater, did not know the exact process and measurements to make a perfect tea. I just used my lame dimag, recalled the steps and made chai. When he took the first sip, he just gave me a look and smiled. I asked him -"Aur chai kaisi bani hai . He just nodded his head. I assumed that the mission was accomplished.
Then fast forward to 2019, one rainy day, I asked him - shall I prepare tea for you. He just gave me a blank look and said - "Rehne do madam... hum pe raham farmao.. jo apki chai piyega ... uska chai se mann bhar jayega... I am ready to have whatever you cook but not TEA".
That was my first and last attempt in tea preparation !!! |
