Karma

Life is a boomerang. What we send out, comes back. What we sow, we reap.

While reading a book, I came across this quote, immediately a story from Mahabharat came to my mind.

When Lord Krishna killed Shishupala, while throwing the Sudharshan Chakra from his index finger, he had hurt himself. Draupadi rushed to help him when she saw blood oozing out from his finger. She quickly tore a piece from her Saree’s pallu and wrapped it around his finger to stop the bleeding. Lord Krishna was touched by her selfless love and devotion.

At the Kuru rajsabha, during the game of dice (Pasa Khela) Pandavas lost the game and Kauravas tried to disrobe Draupadi through Bastra Haran, she continuously prayed to Lord Krishna to help her. The Lord took care of her pride and honoured her by supplying an endless saree.

Odia Poet, Bhakta kabi Salabega has penned a praise for the Lord based on this incident –

Kuru sabha tale suni Draupadi ra janana ,

Koti vastra dei dele lajya kale barana .

Ahe Nila saila Prabala mata barana

Here Lord Krishna has shown us the importance of Karma in our life. He has paid back Draupadi and kept his word – “I will repay for each thread”.

Karma is a universal law, no one is spared from one’s deed whether good or bad.

If we keep a watch on our emotions, feelings and thoughts, we can easily attract good Karma in our life. We are the manifestations of LOVE. When we accelerate our positive energy, we will awaken OUR INNER KRISHNA.
