Good News

When are you giving the good news?
Khush khabri kab sunaoge ?
Aau Good news kebe deucha?

I am sure many of us have been asked this question at a certain point of time post-marriage.

When a lady enters the new house, everyone jokes around: soon we will be getting the good news.

When she visits any relatives, they ask: when are we getting the good news.

When she attends any family functions, people say: we will be attending your baby shower function next time.

Initially, she gives a polite smile when being asked this. With time, this becomes annoying.

There might be multiple reasons for a couple not deciding about having a baby:

  • They might be working on making their relationship bond stronger.
  • They might not be mentally prepared to have a baby.
  • They might not be financially stable to welcome a baby.
  • They might be focussing on career growth.
  • They might be having some health issues that are limiting them from conceiving.
  • They might have had a miscarriage in the recent past.

And so on.

I understand many of you would say that people ask it with good intentions, but imagine her situation when she listens to this every time. That might hurt her and might emotionally break her down. She might dread meeting people. Gradually this might lead to clinical depression.

Can we be a bit gentle and respectful while addressing such sensitive stuff with a lady !!!
